CHAIRS...

Last week was the last of our technical blocks, and the beginning of this week was the start of our assessents. So for the next two weeks we are doing collaborative drawing projects.

Today we were told to bring a chair with us to studio, with a variety of string/tape/fabric and drawing materials. We had to get into groups of around 7 to 8 people, and create a sculpture using everyones chairs. It was good fun trying to attach the chairs together in interesting and creative ways.  You can see the sculpture we created in the photographs below.We then did collaborative line drawings of the sculpture on large scale paper on the floor and on the walls. After every drawing we added to the sculpture using different material and textures. Everytime we added to the sculpture we drew it again on top of the other line drawings creating some interesting layered pieces of work. Throughout the workshop we were to photograph the change that was happening to the sculpture. Here are some of my pictures from the workshop...
