Colour & Collage workshop

Today was about working in large scale and experimenting. Considering our chosen colour palette in relation to our objects, we were to think about creating different textures. We split our A1 paper up into 8 sections; each section we had to create a different texture using a selection of paints/material/inks- whatever material would help portray the texture of our object. My colour palette was very much suited to the idea of makeup found in a handbag.
Once we had completed the 8 sections, we cut them up into 8 individual pieces of paper.

On a different piece of A1 paper we did a back wash and waited for this to dry.

Once it had dried we were to create a drawing of one of our objects from our collections, made from collage. The idea was to cut up the 8 different textures that we created and use them to create the drawing. I chose the object of a pot of lip-gloss in the shape of a cupcake. I realised that it didn't matter if one could not easily identify my object, as that is the abstract beauty of collage.
