This week I felt I started to grasp machine knitting a lot better the more I did it. I experimented with different knits- some more abstract and sculptural, and others more simple and traditional. Throughout the two weeks there were times when I did get slightly frustrated when I would make a mistake and ruin my whole knit sample. However, the more I practised and realised how to correct my mistakes, the more my knits improved. Once I had decided which patterns worked well and colour combinations, I could then produce some final samples. By the end of the two weeks, I realised what huge potential and possibilities there are within knit. I felt like I wanted to continue developing my knits and would like to improve my skills within the block.
Below are some of my hand knit samples, using stocking stitch, purl stich and crochet.
